A filer may scan documents in color. However, it’s recommended only do so if it is necessary to to properly illustrate the content of the document. Scanning in color creates larger file sizes which in turn makes it more difficult for viewers of the document to download and open it. Additionally, keep in mind there is a 25MB document size limit, and 35MB total size limit file size limit in most courts.
Our Recommendation
Only scan in color if necessary. Otherwise scan your documents in black and white or greyscale and at a 200-300 DPI resolution. For large documents, also consider optimizing or reducing the file size before filing it with the Court. Learn more…
